2002 California State Science Fair

The 2002 California State Science Fair was held on May 20-21 in the California Science Center. There were 956 participants from over 300 schools throughout the State presenting projects in competition for over $60,000 in awards.

• May 20 - The Keynote Address was given by Nobel Laureate Louis Ignarro.
• May 22 - Here is a link to COSMOS, the program discussed by Gayle Wilson at Tuesday's Orientation session.
• May 24 - The live Webcast of the Awards Ceremony is again available, here for your viewing.
• June 25 - Photographs from this year's Fair have now been posted. Students identified in these pictures will be sent a print. An index of all pictures is also available.
• July 1 - Award checks were mailed from the California Science Center on Monday.
• August 13 - Seventeen CSSF participants were named as semi-finalists in the 2002 Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge.
• September 19 - DCYSC Finalists: Three CSSF participants were named as finalists in the 2002 Discovery Channel Young Scientist Challenge.
• October 23 - DCYSC Winners: Christine Haas wins top prize. Asmita Kumar wins Space Camp Award.
