2017 California State Science Fair

The 2017 California State Science Fair was held on April 24-25 within the California Science Center located in Exposition Park, just south of downtown Los Angeles.

This year we had 927 participants from 400 schools throughout the State presenting 814 projects in competition for nearly $60,000 in total awards.

Our Keynote Speaker was Dr. W.E. Moerner, Harry S. Mosher Professor of Chemistry and Professor by courtesy of Applied Physics, Stanford University, and Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, 2014. Here is a version of the Keynote Address along with a few pictures from the event.

Feb 10: Application directions with deadlines, by fair.
Feb 24: Project Allocations for all affiliates
Mar 12: The Application Packet is now available for all participants to download.
Mar 14: The online Application Process is now available for all students to submit their applications.
Apr 17: Judge Registration is now closed to new applicants. The site remains open for judges to register their interest in the 2018 fair.
Apr 19: Science Fair Teacher of the Year Finalists Announced: Jennifer Claudio, Renee Fallon, Dr. Aidyl-Serricchio Gonzalez, Elaine Gillum, Darshana Shah, and Fardusa Sharif.
September 6: Top 300 Broadcom MASTERS Announced
September 20: Broadcom MASTERS Finalists Announced
October 24: Broadcom MASTERS Awards Announced
The Tuesday Afternoon Seminar for all students, parents, and teachers including "How to do a better science fair project" and "Telling a scientific story" is now available for viewing again.
